Arnold offers with his WLD duo a welding system equipped with two stations up its sleeve. Daimler commissioned the automatic system.

Maschinenfabrik Arnold from Ravensburg has developed and now delivered a laser welding system for differentials for a user from the automotive sector. The fully automated system masters several individual processes, as Arnold says, and is optimally integrated into the assembly area of the user's production. The core process that this welding machine performs is the laser welding of the vehicle differential case and a ring gear with an alloy ring as filler material (see additional pictures). This procedure is considered unique in Germany.

According to Ravensburger, upstream processes such as cleaning and joining by laser, as well as a quality assurance function and brushing and ultrasonic testing of the weld seam, round off the overall concept that is now being used at Daimler.
